Middle School
Middle School year's Good Tree offers a challenging yet balanced curriculum that stretches each student's ability to think critically, be creative, resourceful and collaborate. The emphasis 4 during these years is to teach ae, children to become students, dienes leaders and contributing citizens. In preparation for Middle School the Lower School teachers encourage collaboration as well as individual responsibility
CURRICULUM
Literature
In Literature classes, students study a wide range of fiction, nonfiction, classical and contemporary works, and then apply an array of strategies to comprehend, interpret and evaluate each text.
Math
Middle school offers advanced math which is a challenging yet balanced curriculum that stretches each student’s ability to think critically and be creative and resourceful. Starting with Pre-Algebra in 7th grade, all our 8th graders take Algebra 1.
Enrichment Classes
Enrichment classes, such as computer, Library, and physical education, are an integral part of fostering student's individual talents, as well as encouraging creativity and developing skills to lead a healthy, balanced life.
Writing
The Writing curriculum teaches language structure, conventions and grammar in order to create and critique writings. Students conduct research on issues/topics and synthesize data from a variety of sources to communicate their ideas and findings through the written word.
Religion
Our Religious curriculum focuses on the emotional, spiritual, and internal nurturing and growth of students through program offerings in Islamic studies, Quranic Arabic, Memorization of the Quran, and Recitation and Fluency of the Quran.
Hifz-ul Quran (Quran Memorization) is at the heart of our religious program.
Integration of religious perspectives with academic subjects is done to help students acquire a well-balanced approach to life and make connections independently between the two.
